American Tenor, Aaron Pegram is currently in his 16th season as an ensemble member at the Semperoper Dresden. Known for his magnetic stage presence and beautiful tone, Aaron has performed 49 productions and 60 different roles with the company. His most recent roles include Truffaldino in Die Liebe zu den drei Orangen, Chekalinsky in Pique Dame, Zweiter Hirte/Erster Geist in L’Orfeo, Pong in Turandot and Erster Jude in Salome.

Other notable performances include Beppe in Pagliacci, Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, the four servants in Les contes d’Hoffmann, Harlekin in Der Kaiser von Atlantis, Conférencier in Cabaret and Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos conducted by Christian Thielemann. In the 2014/2015 season, Aaron performed the role of Don Basilio in a new production of Le nozzle di Figaro. After this production he was invited to the prestigious Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland where he reprised the role in the summer of 2015.

 

Aaron made his Houston Grand Opera debut in 2015 as Monastatos in The Magic Flute and returned to Houston in 2022 to preform this roll again in the Barrie Kosky production.  He debuted at New York City Opera as Goro in Madama Butterfly in 2008. 

Aaron has enjoyed several seasons with the Santa Fe Opera. After two seasons as an apprentice, he returned to perform Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro in 2008. In 2013, he was Baron Puck in the Grand Duchess of Gerolstein and the Detective/Prison Guard in the world premiere of Theodore Morrison’s Oscar.

His introduction into opera began at Orlando Opera as a young artist in 2003. As a local favorite, Aaron guested in several shows with the company including Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Little Bat in Susannah, Nanki-Poo in The Mikado and Beppe/The Swan in IPagliacci/Carmina Burana. 

Before making the move to opera, Aaron performed the role of Quasimodo over 1500 times in the live show of The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Disney World in Orlando Florida. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theater from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.
